in)(between gallery の企画展として、フランス人写真家ファビアン・ドゥボワ氏の写真展を開催します。

「Divagation Vendéenne」「彷徨えるヴァンデ」は、大西洋岸沿いに広がるヴァンデ湿原を彷徨い歩く、ファビアンの作品シリーズです。

このシリーズでは、1920 〜1930 年代に ”雑巾掛け”と呼ばれた日本の古いレタッチ技法が使われています。

「写真と “雑巾掛け” 、この2つの表現によって、湿原に足を踏み入れた瞬間に感じた得も言えぬ根源的な憂鬱がよみがえります。そして（この2つの表現を手にしたことで）、幸運にも、子供の頃、いつもバカンスを過ごした懐かしい場所に戻れたのです。」

For this series Fabien used the  old handmade Japanese retouching technique that dates back to the years 1920 - 1930 called "Zokin-Gake".

As Fabien says – “Together with the images and the "Zokin-Gake" it brings back certain melancholy that touched me when I first arrived in those marshlands.  As luck would have it, I went back to where I spent a good part of my childhood holidays.”
